Infrastructure Renovation

Tenant Migration, Willis Tower

Project Description

The Tenant Migration project consisted of white-boxing of one-third of the 100th floor where we installed new flooring, lighting, a new dry sprinkler system and painted so that the new tenants could move in.  We installed the infrastructure needed for additional tenants to relocate their network from the 102nd floor which included installing pumps, piping and a Lakos filter for the filtered watered cooling system.

The Network Suites portion consisted of all tenants that were electrically fed from the (2) existing building electrical rooms on the 102nd floor needed to be rerouted to the new 100th floor electrical switchgear room.  New conduit feeders were ran from the new 100th floor electrical switchgear room to each suite for tenants that included Cumulus, Entercomm, WPNA, ION, I Heart Radio, Trinity, Motorola, WGN and WFLD that were located on a mixture of floors from 101 – 107.  Once feeders were installed, shut downs took place to remove the existing and connect the new.  When the new feeds were energized, the old were demoed back to the source.
